By accessing or using MyOBDCode.com you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the site. StormGlass Interactive Inc reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. The date of the most recent revision is shown at the top of this page.
2. Who we are
MyOBDCode.com is operated by StormGlass Interactive Inc, a software development company. We provide free automotive diagnostic tools including OBD-II code lookup, VIN decoding, NHTSA recall checking, symptom-to-code lookup, and a mechanic finder powered by Google Places. 3. Use of the service
MyOBDCode provides free automotive diagnostic tools for informational purposes only. You may use these tools for personal, non-commercial use at no cost and without creating an account. You may not: scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the site without prior written permission; use automated tools to submit queries in bulk; reproduce or republish the site's original content in bulk without permission; or use the site in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations.
4. Accuracy of information
OBD-II code descriptions, repair cost estimates, cause likelihood rankings, VIN decode results, and recall information are provided in good faith for informational purposes only. They may not always be accurate, complete, or current for every vehicle make, model, and year. VIN and recall data is sourced directly from NHTSA's public API and is as accurate as that source. MyOBDCode is not a substitute for professional mechanical diagnosis. Always consult a qualified mechanic before making any repair or vehicle safety decision. We expressly disclaim any liability for repair decisions made in reliance on information from this site.
5. Advertising and Google AdSense
MyOBDCode displays advertisements through Google AdSense (publisher ID: ca-pub-7937609722850741). Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings at google.com/settings/ads. We do not control the content of third-party advertisements shown on this site.
6. Affiliate and sponsored links
Some links on MyOBDCode — including parts links (Amazon Associates, tag: myobdcode20-20) and insurance comparison (EverQuote via CJ Affiliate) — are affiliate or sponsored links. We may earn a commission when you click and make a purchase or complete a form. All affiliate and sponsored placements are clearly labeled 'Sponsored' on the page. Affiliate relationships do not affect the content of code lookups, cause likelihood rankings, urgency ratings, or repair cost estimates.
7. Paid reports
Full vehicle history reports may be available for purchase and are fulfilled by third-party data providers (VinAudit or similar). MyOBDCode does not guarantee the completeness or accuracy of paid report data as this data comes from third-party sources. All purchases are final unless the report fails to generate, in which case a full refund will be issued within 5 business days. Payments are processed securely via Stripe.
8. Intellectual property
The MyOBDCode brand, logo, site design, and original written content (including blog articles, code descriptions, and editorial content) are owned by StormGlass Interactive Inc and protected by copyright law. OBD-II diagnostic trouble codes as defined by SAE International standards and NHTSA recall data are in the public domain. You may share individual code result pages for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce or republish the site's original content in bulk, or use the MyOBDCode name or logo without prior written permission.
9. Third-party services
MyOBDCode integrates with several third-party services including the NHTSA public API (vehicle data and recalls), Google Places API (mechanic finder), Google Analytics (usage analytics), Google AdSense (advertising), and Amazon Associates (parts affiliate links). Your use of features that rely on these services is also subject to those providers' terms of service and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or data practices of any third-party service.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
MyOBDCode is provided 'as is' and 'as available' without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any diagnostic information provided.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, StormGlass Interactive Inc and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on any information obtained from it, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from use of the site shall not exceed ten US dollars ($10.00).
12. Governing law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these terms that cannot be resolved informally shall be subject to binding arbitration, except for claims that qualify for small claims court. You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.
