MyOBDCode.com is operated by StormGlass Interactive Inc, a software development company. We provide free automotive diagnostic tools including OBD-II code lookup, VIN decoding, and NHTSA recall checking.

2. What data we collect

Tool usage data: When you use our tools (OBD-II code lookup, VIN decoder, recall checker, symptom checker), we log the search query and timestamp for debugging and aggregate usage analytics. No personally identifiable information is attached to these logs.

Contact data: If you email us at support@stormglassinteractive.com, we store your email address and message content in order to respond to your inquiry.

Analytics data: We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect aggregate usage data — page views, session duration, device type, and country. This data is associated with a pseudonymous client ID, not your name or email. See Section 4 for full details.

3. What we do not collect

We do not require account creation for any free tool on MyOBDCode. We do not collect your name, physical address, phone number, or payment information. We do not run browser fingerprinting scripts. We do not track your activity across other websites.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party.

4. Google Analytics

MyOBDCode uses Google Analytics 4 (GA4) (measurement ID: G-L2T8RF0430) to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics collects information such as pages visited, time spent on pages, device type, browser type, and approximate location (country/region level). This data is associated with a pseudonymous analytics identifier — not your name, email address, or other personally identifying information.

Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect this data. The analytics data is processed and stored by Google in accordance with their Privacy Policy.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5. Google AdSense and advertising

MyOBDCode uses Google AdSense(publisher ID: ca-pub-7937609722850741) to display advertisements. Google AdSense uses cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to MyOBDCode and other websites. 8. NHTSA data

All VIN and recall data displayed on MyOBDCode is sourced from NHTSA's public API. This is publicly available government data and is not considered private information. VINs entered into our tool are used solely to query the NHTSA database and return results to you. We do not store VINs entered by users beyond the immediate session.

9. Third-party links

MyOBDCode contains links to third-party websites including Amazon, EverQuote, Google Maps, and NHTSA.gov. These sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their content or data practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.

10. Children's privacy

MyOBDCode is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us at support@stormglassinteractive.com and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of MyOBDCode after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
